Abstract
Technological characteristics of bagasse potassium-based and sodium-ba sed sulfite pulping have been studied. Pulp properties and bleachabili ties of neutral potassium sulfite, neutral potassium sulfite-A Q, alka line potassium sulfite and neutral sodium sulfite pulping have been co mpared. The results indicate that K-based sulfite pulping is very comp etitive with the traditonal Na-based system and bagasse pulps with hig h yield, good strength and good bleachability can be produced by neutr al or alkaline potassium sulfite pulping.
