Abstract
Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia) is a hardwood with a high juvenile growth rate that is adaptable to a wide range of soils, environmental anti weather conditions. It produced a kraft pulp that was equivalent to other hardwood kraft pulps in terms of delignification rate, pulp yield ease of pre-bleaching with oxygen/alkali, and strength propertie s. Preliminary results with black locust chemithermomechanical pulp (C TMP) were encouraging.
