Abstract
Five new sesquiterpene polyesters [1, 4, 6, 8, 9] based on the dihydro -beta-agarofuran skeleton were isolated, together with twelve known co mpounds of the same type, from the fruits of Euonymus nanus and E, sac halinensis. The structures were elucidated by spectral methods and com parison with related compounds. Biological evaluation showed that 1 be ta,6 alpha,15-triacetoxy-2 beta ,9 alpha-dibenzoyloxydihydro-beta-agar ofuran [3] and evonine [16] demonstrated insecticidal effects against Pieris brassicae.
