Abstract
Circadian rhythms are associated with changes in the levels of melaton in, cortisol, ACTH, and growth hormone. Night shift work causes loweri ng of melatonin levels and significant health problems. The diabetic p atient will, in addition, have difficulty in maintaining glycemic cont rol. Changes in lifestyle, diet, and medication can minimize the adver se effects of night shift work in the diabetic patient.
