Ov. Mikhailov et al., SILVERLESS PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES CONSISTING OF CU(II) CHELATES WITH 8-MERCAPTOQUINOLINE, 5,8-DIMERCAPTOQUINOLINE AND 5-THIOMETHYL-8-MERCAPTOQUINOLINE, Journal of information recording, 23(4), 1996, pp. 363-376
The formation processes of silverless photographic images by complexin
g Cu(II) with 8-mercaptoquinoline and 5-thiomethyl-8-mercaptoquinoline
have been studied. D-del = f (D-Ag) relationships, where D-del is the
density of a silverless image formed on the basis of the initial silv
er image having D-Ag density, have been analyzed. The chemistry of the
processes has been studied in detail. It has been noted that in each
of the three studied systems, namely Cu-2[Fe(CN)(6)]-8-mercaptoquinoli
ne, Cu-2[Fe(CN)(6)]-5,8-dimercaptoquinoline and Cu-2[Fe(CN)(6)]-5-thio
methyl-8-mercaptoquinoline, the formed silverless image is multicompon
ent. this offers the possibility to apply the formation of these image
s for image amplification.
