The paper discusses the elements of the circulation and the processes
of the horizontal water exchange between the shelf area and the deep s
ea obtained from the space-home measurements in the optical spectral L
and. It is also shown that the water exchange is mainly determined by
the nonstationary mushroom-shape currents (combinations of the jets wi
th dipoles and multipoles). The regions in which the frequent observat
ions of the elements of the circulation have been made ari shown and a
lso the correlation between some of them and singularities of the bott
om topography is discussed. The paper also discusses the possibility o
f the seasonal intensification of the exchange processes.
