Abstract
Comparative validity of the ERS-1, ''Almaz'', and ''Landsat-TM'' satel lite data for documentation of tundra ecosystems is estimated. Algorit hms and software are developed for comprehensive data processing with the minimumloss function in false classification as the classification optimality criterion. A stepwise discriminant analysis of data for ch oosing an optimal ensemble of the main and synthesized channels is per formed. The results of classification and comparative analysis are pre sented.
