Gs. Bordonskii et al., THE SPATIAL-DISTRIBUTION OF HIGHER AQUATIC PLANTS ASSESSED FROM THE THERMAL RADIO-EMISSION OF THE ICE COVER IN THE MICROWAVE REGION, Earth observation and remote sensing, 12(3), 1995, pp. 433-441
Methods of utilizing the microwave signatures of fresh-water ice are a
nalyzed with a view to assessing the distribution of higher aquatic pl
ant concentrations in a body of water. It is stated that the solution
of this problem in the microwave band is based on recording changes in
the dielectric characteristics of the ice when liquid and gas inclusi
ons appear in it.
