Abstract
The half-wave plate has been used to control the intensity of linearly polarized light in experiments. However this plate can be applied onl y to monochromatic light, because of the dependence of the action of t he half-wave plate on wavelength. A new composite half-wave plate can be designed for the entire visible light region using two phase plates . Satisfied condition of the composite half-wave plate using two phase plates is obtained on the Poincare sphere.
