Abstract
We report on the prenatal diagnosis of a baby with a de novo centromer ic fission of chromosome 21. Both fission products were mitotically st able. Follow-up chromosome analysis after birth confirmed the centrome re fission. This chromosome fission appears to be without clinical sig nificance for this patient. (C) 1995 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
