Nm. Zoumakis et al., ESTIMATING STREET-CANYON AIR-QUALITY LEVELS USING DIFFERENT FITTED PROBABILITY-DISTRIBUTIONS, Fresenius environmental bulletin, 5(11-12), 1996, pp. 694-699
The main purpose of this study is to analyse the diurnal variability o
f air pollutants (e.g, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitric oxide,
nitrogen dioxide, ozone and smoke) using different fitted probability
density functions and establish the relationship between emissions st
andards and street-canyon air quality levels in the commercial center
of Thessaloniki. Particular attention is given to the dynamic behavior
of motor vehicle emissions, which constitute the most important singl
e source of pollutants in the commercial region of the town.
