beta-cyclodextrin derivatives having azido, amino and bioactive galact
osylamido spacer functions were tested for haemolytic effect and compa
red with that of hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin. The cyclodextrin cou
pled to the bioactive saccharide galactose via a spacer and which has
bio-recognition properties for cell-wall lectin shows an extremely red
uced haemolytic effect.
