Abstract
We propose a procedure for measuring meso-scale ocean current field ve locity based on analysis of a sattelite-borne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) Doppler spectrum. The velocity image of the ocean surface near the Gulf Stream thus constructed is compared with the vessel measureme nt data.
