Abstract
Results from the analysis of surface sediment samples, collected in 19 91, at the Kerkyra Strait (N.E. Ionian Sea) for Fe, Cr, Zn, Co, Ni, Cu , Mn, Ph concentrations, organic carbon content and grain composition, are presented. Also, water flow features of the area are determined f rom the analysis of current meter data, obtained during the same perio d. Metal concentrations are similar to those reported for other non-po lluted Hellenic coastal areas. A slight anthropogenic enrichment of Cu , Co, Cr, Zn and Pb at the mouth of rivers, discharging in the study a rea, can be sustained.
