RELATION BETWEEN SEVERITY OF DISEASE AND IMPAIRMENT OF HEART-RATE-VARIABILITY PARAMETERS IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC CONGESTIVE-HEART-FAILURE SECONDARY TO CORONARY-ARTERY DISEASE
Bm. Szabo et al., RELATION BETWEEN SEVERITY OF DISEASE AND IMPAIRMENT OF HEART-RATE-VARIABILITY PARAMETERS IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC CONGESTIVE-HEART-FAILURE SECONDARY TO CORONARY-ARTERY DISEASE, The American journal of cardiology, 76(10), 1995, pp. 713
Correlations between New York Heart Association functional class, left
ventricular ejection fraction, and peak oxygen consumption were compa
red to heart rate variability and analyzed in 79 heart failure patient
s with left ventricular ejection fraction <0.40 and peak oxygen consum
ption <20 ml/min/kg. Clinical variables of-chronic heart failure (New
York Heart Association class, peak oxygen consumption) showed statisti
cally significant, but moderate, correlations with heart rate variabil
ity parameters, and heart rate variability was found to be reduced in
patients with more severe chronic congestive heart failure.
