Abstract
Our study validates the use of a femoral arterial pressure recording c orrected for both temporal delay and systolic amplification as a subst itute for central aortic recording in assessing transaortic gradients in patients with valvular aortic stenosis. This alternative approach o bviates the need for 2 arterial punctures with their attendant risks, discomfort, and cost.
