Pt. Vaitkus et al., ACCURACY OF QUANTIFICATION OF AORTIC-STENOSIS USING FEMORAL ARTERIAL RECORDINGS CORRECTED FOR BOTH TEMPORAL DELAY AND SYSTOLIC AMPLIFICATION, The American journal of cardiology, 76(10), 1995, pp. 725
Our study validates the use of a femoral arterial pressure recording c
orrected for both temporal delay and systolic amplification as a subst
itute for central aortic recording in assessing transaortic gradients
in patients with valvular aortic stenosis. This alternative approach o
bviates the need for 2 arterial punctures with their attendant risks,
discomfort, and cost.
