S. Olesen et Jb. Nielsen, ENDOSCOPIC DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF UROTHELIAL TUMORS OF THE UPPER URINARY-TRACT, Scandinavian journal of urology and nephrology, 1995, pp. 11-13
Fifty-two percutaneuos and 41 ureteroscopic procedures for upper tract
tumor were performed in 61 patients. In 23 patients the procedure was
primarily a diagnostic evaluation due to widespread papillomatosis or
invasiveness, in the rest it was therapeutic. In two patients the tum
or progressed and a nephroureterectomia was performed. Complications w
ere minimal and transient, and no spreading of tumor due to endoscopy
was seen. Endoscopic management is a conservative renal sparing treatm
ent option in urothelial upper tract tumors.
