Abstract
It appears that there is widespread uncertainty concerning what distin
ction there may be between the words ''acoustic'' and ''acoustical''.
An argument is presented that a useful distinction can be made and the
refore we should resist the moves which are in the direction of regard
ing them as synonymous.
