Abstract
This paper focuses on two specific effects concerning the nonlinearity of transitional boundary-layer flows: the generation of turbulent spo ts in a flat-plate flow, and the nonlinear behaviour of laminar separa tion bubbles associated with the short-scale instability of the separa ted layer. A compilation of results from several experimental studies is given.
