This article describes an algorithm for quantitative determination of
material losses in The corrosion of metal products. The determination
is made on the basis of thermographic inspection. Analysis of empirica
l data for a steel plate 3 mm thick shelved that an acceptable level o
f accuracy in flaw detection is achieved when more than 20% of the ove
rall thickness of the wall has corroded.
