PRIMARY MANDIBULAR SYMPTOMS OF MULTIPLE-M YELOMA

Two female patients suffering from myeloma whose initial symptoms were localized in the mandible are presented. The disease manifested with pathological mandibular fracture and sensory disorder of the inferior alveolar nerve, respectively. The radiological, hematologic, scintigra phic, histologic and immunohistochemical examination lead to the diagn osis. Treatment was initiated with local radiotherapy and cytostatic a gents according to the VBAM-DEX-scheme or with Alkeran/Cortison. Both patients responded well and their general condition is satisfactory Th ese rare cases are described and discussed.
