K. Weninger et al., SONOLUMINESCENCE FROM SINGLE BUBBLES IN NONAQUEOUS LIQUIDS - NEW PARAMETER SPACE FOR SONOCHEMISTRY, Journal of physical chemistry, 99(39), 1995, pp. 14195-14197
The emission of light by a single pulsating bubble of xenon trapped in
nonaqueous fluids has been observed. The intensity of sonoluminescenc
e displays a remarkable structure as a function of the temperature and
partial pressure of solution. At the light-emitting moment the bubble
is so focused and stressed that Swan lines are absent from the spectr
um of single bubble sonoluminescence in organic liquids.
