Jgm. Thacker et al., SUCCESSFUL EXCISION OF A GIANT ACOUSTIC NEUROMA IN THE 3RD-TRIMESTER OF PREGNANCY, Scottish Medical Journal, 40(4), 1995, pp. 117-118
Intracranial neoplasms presenting during pregnancy are uncommon. We re
port the case of a woman with a giant acoustic neuroma, presenting wit
h hyperemesis gravidarum, and detail the surgical excision of the tumo
ur during the third trimester. The case illustrates the unusual presen
tation and that such surgery can be performed safely without detriment
to mother or fetus.
