Abstract
The potential for organizational instability should always be consider ed when proposed library functions and services are reviewed, especial ly when automation is involved. Sustainable automation can kelp preven t organizational instability. Planning for sustainable automation requ ires an environmental perspective, appropriate strategies, and a frame work of ecological values.
