Abstract
Strains of the 'Streptococcus milleri' group (SMG) were isolated from 43 pus samples obtained from 198 orofacial infections (21/146 dentoalv eolar abscesses, 6/11 cysts, 2/11 sialadenitis and 14/20 miscellaneous infections). The 43 isolates of SMG comprised S. intermedius (44 per cent), S. constellatus (37 per cent) and S. anginosus (19 per cent). T here was a negative association between SMG and Prevotella.
