Abstract
The author had the honor of being invited to be the Rapporteur for the second meeting of the International Advisory Committee for the UNESCO ''Memory of the World'' Programme. The meeting was held at UNESCO Hea dquarters in Paris, 3-5 May 1995. In addition to the official report ( which is summarized in this issue of IFLA Journal), the author has pro duced this article, giving another view of the meeting.
