Potential-step experiments have been used to investigate the electrode
position of polyselenienyl thiophene films. It is shown that the initi
al step in the formation of films is a nucleation process, The electro
chemical data obtained show many similarities to that for the nucleati
on and growth of a metal film. Furthermore, atomic force microscopy (A
FM) was used to specify the growth morphology for thin coverages of pe
rchlorate-doped polyselenienyl thiophene.
