F. Yamaguchi et al., PURIFICATION AND PROPERTIES OF ENDO-BETA-1,4-D-GALACTANASE FROM ASPERGILLUS-NIGER, Bioscience, biotechnology, and biochemistry, 59(9), 1995, pp. 1742-1744
An endo-beta-1,4-D-galactanase was purified 1735-fold from a commercia
l enzyme preparation of Aspergillus niger, The endogalactanase was hom
ogeneous by SDS-PAGE, having an apparent molecular weight of 32,000. I
t specifically hydrolyzed beta-1,4-D-galactan, and is shown to be capa
ble of releasing galactosyl oligomers and galactose from the soybean p
ectic polysaccharides.
