Abstract
A kinetic study of toluene alkylation with methanol in the presence of gamma-Al2O3 and HY zeolites (Si/Al=4 and 29) was carried out. A Ridea l mechanism implying the reaction of gaseous toluene with methanol ads orbed on acid centres has been proposed. A comparison with previous re sults of phenol alkylation is given.
