Abstract
A method is considered for increasing the sensitivity of a gravitation al-wave antenna by using a network of oscillators with decreasing mass es, forming a multimode displacement transformer. A refined expression is found for the noise figure which reduces to the well-known express ion in the special case of a wanted signal. The optimal value of this figure is determined and an estimate is made of the influence of the r everse noise of the electromechanical transducer.
