Abstract
Public Health Service for skin diseases and related conditions is defi ned as a field for medical study and interventions, that encompasses h ealth hazards that are epidemiological priorities in Brazil. This repo rt is made to describe the principal related problems towards Collecti ve Health (I) together with some detailed topics on Endemic Pemphigus foliaceus (II), leishmaniasis (III), Leprosy (IV), Sexually Transmitte d Diseases - STD (V), Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (VI) and Exte rnal parasites and dermatophytes (VII). This group of diseases is apin g of the dangerous residues. Several techniques exist for treating haz ardous residues to reduce or eliminate the risks to health and minimiz e the effects on the environment deterioration usually associated with the generation of noxious (harmful) substances. These techniques depe nd on the physical nature and state of the substances: liquid, solid s emisolid ol gaseous. In many countries unproductive or abandoned land nr eas are used to dump such residues. In common practice only a limit ed number of techniques ave used, of which the land-fill is the most c ommon. In Venezuela an interinstitutional commission is presently work ing on the creation of a Center for the Treatment and final Disposal o f Hazardous Residues. Which in turn is generating a National Plan for Handling Industrial Residues. At this date due consideration is being given to the final sites for the construction of the safety land-fills and to the determination of the necessary related administrative proc esses.
