Abstract
A generating functional with explicitly time dependent source fields i s constructed to project out of the trace of the partition function st ates with doubly occupied sites. The method is shown to work for the t oy model of a one-level two-site system. Its relevance is discussed fo r the infinite U Hubbard problem, away from half filling.
