A set of equations for calculating the effective-interaction matrix R(
ik)(q, omega) and the response function chi(ik)(q, omega) is derived.
These equations take into account the spin degrees of freedom of infin
ite neutron matter. For isotropic neutron matter with the Bethe intera
ction, the effective spin-spin interaction g(k) is calculated in the l
ocal approximation of the functional approach in the density range fro
m rho = 0.17 to 25 fm(-3). It is shown that this interaction weakly de
pends on the density within the range under consideration and that nei
ther ferromagnetic nor antiferromagnetic phase transitions occur in th
e system.
