Abstract
It is shown that, in QED(3), the Pauli-Villars regularization involvin
g a pair of auxiliary fermion fields with masses of opposite sign lead
s to results that are consistent with those obtained using all other p
arity-preserving schemes of regularization. At the same time, ambiguit
y problems remain unsolved in non-Abelian models (QCD(3)).
