A numerical method for solving the three-dimensional unsteady Navier-S
tokes equations is presented. The method is based on a time-splitting
scheme and introduces an hybrid Fourier pseudospectral and Hermitian f
inite difference scheme in space along with an efficient projection me
thod for solving the pressure-velocity coupling. The important feature
of the method relies on the iterative solution of pressure that gives
Hermitian accuracy by iteratively solving only a classical second ord
er Poisson equation. The method is applied on test cases in channel fl
ow.
