Abstract
New MADS box domains have been cloned from Asparagus officinalis L. us ing PCR technology. Several clones share high homology with the Arabid opsis agamous gene while other clones appear to represent novel MADS b ox domains. These results show that extended PCR primers are useful fo r selectively amplifying conserved DNA binding domains across widely d ivergent plant taxa.
