Lifetimes of high spin states in the three A = 89 isobars Nb-89, (89)M
O and (TC)-T-89 have been measured via the Recoil Distance Doppler Shi
ft technique and the fusion evaporation reactions Ni-58(Cl-35, xnypz a
lpha) at 120 MeV beam energy. Reduced transition probabilities for abo
ut 50 gamma transitions were extracted. The experimental branching rat
ios in Mo-89 and reduced transition probabilities in all three isobars
are compared with the predictions of the spherical shell model based
on the restricted pi(p(1/2)), pi(g(9/2)), nu(p(1/2)), nu(g(9/2)) confi
guration space with two different types of residual interaction.
