Abstract
12-[H-3]HPETE was synthesized by oxidation of [H-3]arachidonic acid w ith a preparation of 12-lipoxygenase isolated and partially purified f rom human thrombocytes. Inhibition of peroxidase activity of the 12-li poxygenase with indomethacin allowed us to prepare 12-[H-3]PETE. The y ields of 12-[H-3]HPETE and 12-[H-3]HETE were as high as 30-40 and 40-5 0% respectively. The molar radioactivity of these preparations was 140 -142 Ci mmol(-1).
