Abstract
A novel switching-surge- and noise-reduction technique in zero-voltage -switched convertors is discussed. Surge and noise mechanisms are anal ysed theoretically on the basis of equivalent-circuit modelling. It is shown that nonlinear capacitors have many advantages from the point o f view of surge voltages, EMI and switching-loss reduction. The theore tical analysis is confirmed experimentally, The design of the nonlinea r capacitive snubbers is also presented.
