Abstract
The high-resolution FTIR spectrum of acetylene in the similar to 3800 cm(-1) region has been analyzed for various hot bands originating from the low-lying upsilon(4) and upsilon(5) bending modes. The data have been fitted to a second-order transformed Hamiltonian which includes a ppropriate off-diagonal terms to account for vibrational and rotationa l I-type resonances. Parameters for various stretch-bend combination l evels, which fit the data with residuals (similar to 2.5 X 10(-4) cm(- 1)) approaching the experimental accuracy, are reported.
