Abstract
Static plane symmetric space-times are classified according to their R icci collineations (RCs). Their relation with isometries of the space- times is established. Unlike the spherically symmetric space-times, so me metrics are found for a nondegenerate Ricci tenser which have more RCs than isometries. (C) 1995 American Institute of Physics.
