Abstract
A simple technique for the generation of transform-limited pulses with durations of a few picoseconds at low repetition fares is reported. T his is demonstrated experimentally and 6ps pulses are generated at 1 a nd 2GHz. These pulse trains have very low duty cycles and background l evels.
