Higher order corrections in the theory of inclusive scattering of high
energy electrons by nuclear matter are studied. They involve at least
three nucleons, and are due to: (i) the correlations among the specta
tor nucleons in matter, and (ii) the Pauli blocking of the scattering
of the struck nucleon by a spectator nucleon. Their effect on the cros
s sections is found to be much smaller than those of the two-nucleon c
orrelation hole and of colour transparency.
