Ve. Kazarinov et al., KINETICS OF ELECTROCHEMICAL REACTIONS AT THE POLYMER-SOLUTION INTERFACE - THE INFLUENCE OF THE NATURE AND THE DOPING DEGREE OF THE POLYMER ELECTRODE, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 31(9), 1995, pp. 879-885
Results of the experimental investigations into the kinetics of redox
conversions involving a wide range of solute substances at electroacti
ve polymers of various nature are summarized. It is reliably establish
ed that these reactions at electron-conducting polymers proceed via th
e primary electrochemical mechanism, whereas at redox polymers a secon
dary intermediate process takes place. Depending on the doping degree,
the electron-conducting polymer is shown to behave as either metal, o
r semiconductor, or insulator.
