BIOCORROSION OF TECHNICAL MATERIALS

The review concerns general aspects of the corrosion of engineering an d construction materials, such as types of interaction biodeteriogen - material, effects of macroclimate and microclimate, diagnostic method s and environmental aspects. Mechanisms of biocorrosion are discussed for two substantially different types of materials - plastics and inor ganic materials, viz. construction and decoration stone. New types of biodegradable plastics and the protection against biocorrosion are als o mentioned.
