Abstract
This article discusses the importance of physical fitness and exercise in healthy adults and children, and differentiates the terms ''physic al fitness'' and ''physical activity.'' The benefits of physical activ ity for adults and children with chronic illnesses and rheumatic disea ses are emphasized.
