Axially magnetized ferrite phase-shift sections can be biased above or
below ferrimagnetic resonance. Mode charts displayed in terms of freq
uency/bias field, rather than tensor entries, cater for partial magnet
ization From this construction it is shown that TM modes have separate
onset frequencies above and below ferrimagnetic resonance leading to
unique modal hierarchies in each region. For one waveguide structure t
he theoretical cutoff numbers are compared with experimental data and
the phase-shift calculations are separately corroborated by finite-ele
