Ag. Morachevskii, PHYSICOCHEMICAL AND ELECTROCHEMICAL STUDIES OF LIQUID ALLOYS OF LITHIUM WITH LEAD, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 67(12), 1994, pp. 1691-1702
Liquid alloys of lithium with lead fall in the category of systems wit
h a number of characteristic properties that point to intensive intera
ction between components, charge transfer, and formation of groups con
taining dissimilar atoms. The concentration dependence of the thermody
namic functions of miring and the data on the density, electrical cond
uctivity, and structure of the liquid alloys have been examined in the
review. The process of alloy formation upon lithium deposition from v
arious molten electrolytes on a liquid lead cathode is discussed. Molt
en lithium-lead alloys are of interest for thermonuclear power enginee
ring and energy conversion systems.
