Hma. Elnader et al., EFFECTS OF SUBSTITUTED N-(O-HYDROXYBENZYLIDENE) ON THE DISSOLUTION OFALUMINUM IN HYDROCHLORIC-ACID SOLUTION, INDIAN JOURNAL OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY, 2(6), 1995, pp. 337-338
Dissolution rates of aluminium in hydrochloric acid solution containin
g substituted N-(o-hydroxybenzylidene) have been examined. Using three
different techniques; weight loss, thermometric and gasometric. The i
nhibition character of the compounds depends on the concentration of t
he inhibitor as well as its chemical constitution. The efficiencies of
the additives decrease with rise in temperature confirming the idea t
hat the inhibition occurs through physical adsorption.
