Abstract
We propose an illustrate the use of a compressed time frame to reduce significantly the computational effort when simulating strong compress ion of chirped pulses in a nonlinear optical fiber. Using a lenslike t ransformation we can accurately simulate a 3-order-of-magnitude pulse compression with 128 time grid points only. (C) 1995 Optical Society o f America
